Come From Away tells the real-life stories of human kindness, compassion, and friendship in a time of global tragedy when 38 international flights carrying approximately 7,000 passengers and crew were ordered to land unexpectedly at the airport in Gander, Newfoundland on September 11, 2001, when US airspace was closed. The population of Gander effectively doubled overnight, and the local residents opened their homes, schools, and community centres to those stranded.
